CRITERIA #01:
H O P E !

NON NEGOTIABLE!

  • the film/television show MUST NOT feature any major character death.
     

  • the film/television show's plot MUST NOT end in tragedy.

    • Meaning that, at the absolute minimum, it MUST end hopeful.

CRITERIA #02: 
C O N S E N T !

NON NEGOTIABLE! *


the film/television show MUST NEVER feature any romantic / sexual situations that occur withOUT the consent of EACH and EVERY individual involved.
 

  • Meaning that NONE of the participants were physically forced to participate.
     

  • Meaning that NONE of the participants were coerced into participating. NOT by ANY means, which include but are not limited to…
     

    • Being under threat of physical violence, whether it’s directed upon oneself and/or upon one's loved ones such as friends, family, pets, etc.
       

    • Being under threat of losing one ( or more ) basic means of survival such as employment, shelter, food, water, etc.
       

    • Being under threat of having no on to turn to the help due to a lower social standinglack of evidence, corruption of local authorities, etc.
       

  • Meaning that NONE of the participants were deceived into consenting. NOT by ANY method, which includes but is not limited to…
     

    • Being intentionally misinformed regarding their potential partner(s), their present circumstances, etc.
       

    • Having ANY bit of factual information intentionally withheld from them regarding their potential partner(s), their present circumstances, etc.

There is ONE and ONLY ONE exception and that exception is that ALL of the following criteria are met ( every single one ):
 

  • The romantic / sexual situation is explicitly acknowledged as nonconsensual and, therefore, is clearly depicted as being inherently negative / bad regardless of its duration.​​
     

  • The perpetrators and the victims MUST be explicitly AND correctly identified ( the distinction between the two MUST be clear ).
     

  • The perpetrators and the victims MUST be treated accordingly.
     

  • NO VICTIM BLAMING OF ANY KIND!!!
     

    • None of  this business:
       

      • YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE INFALLIBLE!

        • "How could you sleep with them!"
          "But I thought they were you!"
          "Just because they are an identical counter part of me from a parallel universe, you should have known it was me!"

           

      • YOU SHOULD KNOW YOUR INDEPENDENCE HAS RESTRICTIONS!

CRITERIA #03:
P O S I T I V E   F E M I N I S T   R E P R E S E N T A T I O N !

the film/television show features one ( or more ) FEMALE characters who demonstrate AT LEAST one ( but preferably more ) of these characteristics:
 

  • She is central to the predominant plot line.​​
     

  • She significantly contributes to said predominant plot line.
     

    • Meaning she successfully accomplishes tasks & solves problems.
       

    • Meaning she accomplishes AT LEAST one task SUCCESSFULLY ( but preferably more ).
       

    • Meaning that AT LEAST one of her successful accomplishments is achieved independently ( but preferably more ).
       

  • She is NOT a damsel in distress.​
     

    • Meaning that she does NOT need rescuing MORE than once ( preferably NOT at all ) during the duration of the predominant plot line.
       

    • Meaning that she should get to rescue someone AT LEAST once (but preferably more) for every time she needs rescuing. MOREOVER, she should get to rescue someone AT LEAST once ( but preferably more ) EVEN IF she never needs rescuing herself during the duration of the predominant plot line.
       

    • Meaning that she does NOT exist for the sole purpose of being the victim of assault, torture, rape, murder and/or death by ANY means in order to further the development of another ( male ) character or characters, REGARDLESS of the degree of how significantly this suffering impacts the ( male ) character's personal traits.
       

      • IN SHORT: she does NOT exist only to suffer for the sole purpose of contributing to another ( male ) character's personal development and story arc ( man pain ).
         

  • She has primary objectives that do NOT require the assistance of a male partner ( neither platonic nor romantic ) to successfully accomplish.​
     

  • She is NOT sexually objectified.​​

BONUS POINTS if...
 

  • ...the FEMALE character(s) is/are a protagonist.
     

    • DOUBLE BONUS POINTS if the character(s) is/are THE protagonist.
